RAWHiDE - BOUND LEATHER

"RAWHiDE" is a collage of video portraits centering the leather and BDSM communities. Almost entirely shot on VHS and digitally transferred, these portraits have a quality that is reminiscent of finding a parent's secret porn stash in the early '90s. The text is from a poem written in 2018. The music is an altered version of Rihanna's "We Found Love". The intention was for it to sounds like you were watching from the darkroom of a gay club whilst in a K-hole. "RAWHiDE" was exhibited at In Excess, a group art show as part of Power Play, the 2021 edition of Creamcake's 3hd Festival in Berlin, Germany.
