IN COLLABORATION WITH CHRISTEENE
"Here's Christeene" is a vertical video created to be exhibited at GHOST x The Shining in 2020 as part of VIDEODROOM's annual audiovisual festival in Ghent, Belgium. The entire show was a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Kubrick film. Guests of the festival would arrive at Vooruit arts centre, and left to meander the historic sprawling complex of rooms, theaters, and ballrooms, encountering different installations and live performances as they continued on. The video was played on loop with an actual doorframe around it, evoking the iconic "Here's Johnny" scene. Christeene is seen in the video blending her own style with Shelley Duvall's character's. The documentation below is a mockup of how we imagined it would look - there is one true documentation photograph at the end. I shot and edited this, as well as creating the audio out of heavily distorted field recordings.
